***OK, I wrote my response before seeing the clip from YouTube that Tyler posted... That idiot went so far as to actually make contact with the Women and touch their Feet?!?!? That puts a whole different spin on the whole situation. I thought he was just snapping pics and got caught! It's a shame that he (perhaps) doesn't have Female friends or the means to see a dominatrix or even a ho0ker to satisfy his need for Feet. Going so far as to make contact with them takes it to a bizarre level...***

However... Yours truly is guilty of shooting Foot candids... (I'll share them here soon for those who may be interested... heh heh heh) But, in all the years I've been shooting candids, I have never been busted. The technique and equipment are important.

First of all... As far as equipment goes, shooting Foot candids with a cell phone is a complete waste. One should never use a cell phone to shoot Foot candids. A good camera with a decent zoom should be used. The camera I used for my candids had a 3x optical zoom plus a 12x digital zoom. It was a Leica lens, so the image did not look pixilated when zoomed all the way in. I have taken tons of great close up candids without being anywhere near the subject, therefore, it doesn't come off "creepy" as Tyler described it.

Technique is extremely important... and acting and looking natural is the key. It's important not to look like you're "up to something." I live in New York City where on any given day, especially in the warm months, everyone 'and their mama' is walking around with a camera. Everyone's got their camera pointed at something, so it's easy to take pics without any one knowing (or even caring about) what you're shooting. I never conceal my camera in any way while shooting, this is a big part of not looking suspicious. It's always worked for me. I guess living in a big city has helped my candid endeavors. LOL.

A bit of background regarding my shooting candids of Feet... Not everyone agrees with candid photography, so I should explain my reason for doing it. Back in the 90's I used to approach Women on the streets of the East and West Village and ask them if I could take photos of their Feet. I have tons of pics of Women who allowed me to do so... Others would refuse, no problem... but I would feel defeeted when a Woman with gorgeous Toes would say no... So I thought that instead of asking and being shot down, maybe I could do it secretly and not have to worry about the rejection. So somewhere in time I started shooting candids. Over the years, I've collected many candid Feet...
